Free Bipolar Screening Test
A short screen for periods of unusually high energy, reduced need for sleep, or racing thoughts — alongside low mood. Not a diagnosis.
What this test measures
Bipolar spectrum conditions involve distinct episodes of elevated or irritable mood as well as depression. The Mood Disorder Questionnaire (MDQ) is a widely used screen. Only a psychiatrist or trained clinician can diagnose bipolar disorder.
Whether you have had a period of elevated, irritable, or wired mood with changes in sleep, talking, spending, or risk-taking, and whether that caused problems.
How scoring works
Answer about your lifetime experience, not just this week. A “positive” screen means it is worth a professional conversation — it does not confirm bipolar disorder. Many other conditions can look similar.
Screen negative · Fewer indicators
This questionnaire did not pick up a classic MDQ pattern. Mood issues can still deserve care.
Screen positive · Further evaluation
Share this with a clinician. Do not start or stop medication based on an online test.
This is a screening questionnaire, not a medical diagnosis. Results are for self-awareness only. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a helpline immediately.

Kindly carefully read each question and choose the response that most accurately represents how much you can relate to the statement. To obtain a true self-evaluation, give each question careful thought and provide an honest response. With the use of this questionnaire, you may investigate possible anxiety disorders, panic attacks, anxiety syndromes, or the necessity of receiving therapy for anxiety and sadness.
Consider your experiences from the previous two weeks and the frequency of various concerns bothering you as you answer the questionnaire. Your answers can give you important information about your mental health and assist you in determining if you would benefit from getting professional assistance. Keep in mind that this is merely a tool to assist you in reflecting on your emotions, ideas, and actions; it is not a Bipolar Spectrum Diagnostic tool but can still provide valuable insights into your mental state.
